Extracting espresso coffee

The following trouble shooting guide will help you create the perfect shot of espresso. We will diagnose common extraction problems and will provide solutions designed to get you pouring a great shot of espresso. The rule of thumb is to pour a shot of espresso (25-30ml) in 25-30 seconds.

Does the coffee extraction takes under 15 seconds? Is the coffee crema a very pale colour?

If so, possible causes are:

Incorrect Dosage - Ensure the amount of coffee being dosed into the group handle is correct.

Grind too Course - Make sure the grind is not too course. Making the grind finer will increase the pour time.

A shot of espresso should take around 25 seconds to pour 25 ml
